We have now passed the second winter with this once stately Maple tree being on the ground. Gradually it is becoming less visually significant as it shrinks and continues to settle into the forest floor. Lots of evidence of nature doing its thing to return it to the earth. Released nutrients are nurishing surrounding vegetation. Will be interesting to observe the transition in the coming years.
