The following photos show the debris field around the base of the tree. Only larger diameter materials
are visible as the smaller pieces have either decomposed or are beneath the layer of leaf fall. The diameter of the debris field is
almost 30 metres. Individual debris items range up to about 25 cm in diameter.
It has now been about 7 years since this tree died. The decline has been quite dramatic as time
and the elements show their impact. There is considerable evidence of support of animal and bird life -- both as a
food source and for denning.
