On this page we will present some of the comments received about the Sawyer Preseveration Woodlot and our efforts to preserve our legacy for future generations. Thanks to those who have taken the time to submit their thoughts.
After learning of the woodlot from Mrs. Walter MacDougald last week, I went for visit on Good Friday.
I enjoyed the walk but was surprised at the amount of logging that had taken place. Reading the account of same I understand.
Nice place and much more enjoyable to walk in a bush that is not full of lodged dead falls like I see in my regular walks. As well the trails and named trees and bushes are a great benefit.
We try to get out to the woodlot once each season as it is wonderful to enjoy the changes in the vegetation, etc. as we walk through. A few weeks ago we enjoyed a couple hours of snowshoeing through the upper and lower areas. Absolutely awesome with sightings of woodpeckers, chickadees, and jays. We always appreciate the signage as we are not good at remembering all of the various trees within the woodlot - thank you to all who take such wonderful care of this precious space!
